Why is the battery light showing on my White-Rodgers thermostat?

I have a White-Rodgers programmable thermostat. The last few days, I've noticed the battery alert on--not blinking--but only when I've had the heat turned down very low. When I turn the heat up, it goes away. Any idea why this is happening? I didn't really
