In 2003 the stakes were even higher with the expected release of the new Metallica album and the start of a tour. By then the Bash had grown into more than just a night of fans gathering to celebrate their love of Metallica. It grew into an entire week of fun which included the Summer Sanitarium show at Candlestick Park, a trip to Six Flaggs Marine World, a pre-season 49ers vs. Raiders game and the traditional Pre-Bash party at Tommy's Joynt.

By the time the night of the Bash came around, the crowd was ready. Added to the bill with Creeping Death was a local band, Splyt, who played a killer version of St. Anger. When Creeping Death took the stage they had a special guest that night in the form of Lloyd Grant. It was really nice to have a piece of Metallica History right up there on stage. Their set list opened with Ecstasy of Gold and FFWF Intro. They shot into Fight fire with fire, Creeping Death, No Remorse, Sad But True, Shortest Straw, Ride the Lightening, Seek and Destroy, Trapped Under Ice, Fade To Black. Then they Had Lloyd Grant come out and he rocked on the following songs: Blitzkrieg, Am I Evil?, Helpless, Hit the Lights. The band then continued on with: The Thing that Should Not Be, Master of Puppets, Dyer's Eve, Four Horsemen, One, Leper Messiah, Enter Sandman, Damage Inc.
