Why did Chrysler only offer a 2.7 engine in 2002 Convertibles?

Sedans were offered with either a 3.0 with an external water pump unlike the 2.7 with the money pit water pump in the internal engine allowing anti freeze to destroy engines. Anti freeze seapage will cause moisture creating slug that they blame on there
Actually, the Sebring sedan used the same 2.4L I4 or 2.7L V6. The coupe, which is a completely different vehicle that shared a platform with the Mitsubishi Eclipse, had an optional 3.0L V6.
